This video teaches step-by-step the Anthony Dickey Wash and Go Method on type 4c hair. This has been the easiest “YouTube” wash and go I have done so far. This is my third attempt and after my last one, I almost threw in the towel. My wash and gos have gone from clueless, to complicated, and now finally simple and easy.
Explains the difference between a protective style and a low manipulation hairstyle with picture examples of both. It also gives examples of ways to safely moisturize protective styles without causing too much frizz. At the end I provide three different ways of how to cleanse your scalp and hair while wearing protective hairstyles like braids, locs, and twists.
One of the best ways to prevent single strand knots, shrinkage, and long detangling sessions is to stretch your hair. I LOVE the look of my shrinkage, but I’ve found that the easiest way to retain length is to stretch type 4 hair. It even better if you don’t use heat. I think we can all agree that moisturizing natural hair is important, but how often throughout the week should it be done?
New tips on how to grow type 4 hair long. Length retention is a goal that most men and women with natural hair want. It may be the reason why many of us went natural in the first place. So many people online are showing luscious natural locs of hair down their backs and many of you want to know how to grow your natural hair too.
This is growth from my second big chop I did on December 20th 2016 after transitioning for 1 year and 5months. Today is June 1, 2020 which means I should have 4 years and 11 months worth of growth on my head.
There are so many misconceptions about 4c hair in the natural hair community. It seems that 4c hair is only identified as being real if it is in its dry state with no true curl or coil definition. The truth is, 4c hair does have a curl/coil pattern!
Hair typing systems are usually flawed because they don’t show the full story of your hair. It can be very frustrating to figure out your hair type because hair texture plays such a huge part in what we see. This is where the LOIS Hair Typing System comes into play.
This video showcases 3 beautiful hairstyles that look great on shrunken type 4 natural hair — as well as short hair. 4c Shrinkage is REAL! I have a ton of shrinkage and I’m sure many of you do too. Shrinkage often gets a bad rap because it increases tangles in natural hair and sometimes derails hair growth goals. Many people hate shrinkage in their natural hair mostly because they can’t see their true hair length and it tangles easily. Well, I’m here to say that your thoughts are valid concerning length retention, BUT I think shrinkage is BEAUTIFUL.
Here are a few easy natural hair hacks to appease the lazy natural in all of us. How to hack a hair tie to fit thick natural hair, 5 minute wash and go refresh, how to create faux bangs, and surprise clips of my toddler son.
A few weeks ago I posted a video on YouTube titled, “I Tried a Wash N Go on 4c Hair Every Day For A Week” and the response has been incredible! Not only did the view count explode, but the comment section is packed with hundreds of tips, tricks, and encouraging words from people across the world. This piqued my interest. What would happen if I let my subscribers guide my wash and go? I chose the Max Hydration Method (because I like the name) and humorously tried to follow as many tips from my subscribers as I could. That is the basis of this video.
