EASIEST WASH N GO ON NATURAL HAIR YET!

This video teaches step-by-step the Anthony Dickey Wash and Go Method on type 4c hair.

This has been the easiest “YouTube” wash and go I have done so far. This is my third attempt and after my last one, I almost threw in the towel.  My wash and gos have gone from clueless, to complicated, and now finally simple and easy.

I won’t lie, I’ve put about half a pound of Aunt Jackie’s flaxseed gel on my head, but these 4c coils are poppin! Also, I happen to have low porosity hair so it took over 24 hours to air dry,  but who’s counting…besides me?

In a nutshell here are Mr. Dickey’s key recommendations:

  • Wash your hair with conditioner (co-wash)
  • Saturate your hair with lots of water
  • Apply a leave in conditioner
  • Apply a holding product
  • Shake hair out to separate and clump coils
  • Let hair air dry, sit under a dryer, or blow dry

Note:

Shampoo is still recommended, but to be used less often. For example, if you normally shampoo once a week, continue to do so. Co-washing is meant to be done in  between shampoo washes to keep the hair hydrated.

Anthony also advises to use the amount of product in proportion to the amount of hair you have. I have a decent amount of hair, so I’ve used a decent amount of product. I’ll experiment with different amounts of product over the next few days.
