Here’s how to do a high bun or top knot bun on real natural hair, no extensions. I also show how to add weave to it for fullness. It’s quick and very easy to do. Perfect for work, events, and the holiday season.
In this tutorial, not only am I teaching how to create a fluffy twistout on type 4 natural hair, I’m also teaching how to style an updo with bangs. I found a really cute headband that I wanted to create a tutorial around. The headband is sold out, but I recommend going to Forever 21 and finding their cheap hair accessories to spruce up simple hairstyles.
Valentine’s Day is approaching so I’ve decided to present a full “Get Ready With Me” short film taking your through my makeup, hair, and outfit for this special occasion. The makeup features soft pinks and the hair is a 4 c natural hair updo with clip in extensions.
did it! My 2nd big chop after 18 months transitioning from a texturizer. I have no regrets. I feel the most beautiful I have ever felt with my natural texture and I will continue to enjoy the multitude of things I can do with my hair. Weaves, wigs, and color are probably still on the horizon for me, but the most important thing is that I love my own hair. Yes, it will continue to drive me crazy the longer it gets when I need to detangle. Ugh! But it comes with the territory. I’m taking the good with the bad this 2017. I LOVE MY 4C HAIR!!!
If you’ve read my blog post, Meet My Mother, you know that my mother was was visiting from New York for the first time in six years. Yes, you read that right. Instead of requesting a good old fashioned meal, I requested a hair makeover. In true hair lover fashion. Oh come on, if your mother was a talented cosmetologist I’m sure you would have done the same thing. When a woman is that good with hair, you don’t pass up on any opportunities.
The twist-out. Many of us go YEARS without finding the product that will make the time we put into twisting our hair worth the while. For example, I toil over my hair for, sometimes, hours of styling, but when I walk outside–POOF! All of my definition is lost, my hair shrinks and draws up, and it looks like I didn’t put much effort into it at all. And sure, your co-workers can’t figure out why you frown when they say “ I love your hair, today!“, but you know. You spent hours washing, detangling, twisting, and letting your hair dry and the proof is NOT in the pudding. Well, rest assured. If you happen to have type 4 hair and you want a technique and product that will make your work count, I just may have found what you’ve been looking for.
