BEFORE YOU TEXTURIZE, WATCH THIS

DON'T DO IT, SIS!

I get it. Type 4 natural hair can be really challenging. Especially when you’ve had relaxed hair your whole life and you’re learning how to be patient with the process of learning your natural hair. Or perhaps you want a texture that is “lower maintenance” and you believe having a looser texture will help. Or maybe you’ve been natural for 5 plus years and you are looking for a change and think a relaxer or texturizer might be nice. Take me advice in this video and don’t do it, sis.

If still want to do it, I won’t judge you, but listen to my advice in this video on how to avoid the mistakes I made when I texturized my natural hair:

TEAM NATURAL, ENCOURAGE THEM.

I think we’re all past shaming black women for their hair choices. It’s not always about “hating yourself” or “low self-esteem”. When I texturized my hair, I had SO many questions and I didn’t feel like I found the right answers. I made A LOT of mistakes with my hair, but this was the absolute worst. I CRIED ALL NIGHT to my husband, but you wouldn’t know because I showed up on camera the next week all smiles and sticking to the facts. The REAL fact was, I ruined my hair. 🤦🏾‍♀️

I think especially in light of all the suffering happening in the world, we should be kind to each other. Black hair is BEAUTIFUL in all of its textures. #teamnatural offer encouragement and insight about your own experiences in the comments.
