WILL THIS WORK?
Tik Tok and Instagram reels have blown up and I am living for all of the hair hacks that have surfaced. I’ve always wondered if they’d work on my type 4 hair, so today we are testing the braid out (my #2 nemesis behind Bantu knots)
A FEW HELPFUL TIPS
Here are some tips for the braid out “challenged” like me.
- Begin on damp hair. Wet hair will give you more definition, but less length. If you prefer a fuller look, damp hair is the way to go.
- Moisturize and seal. Moisturizing on damp hair always leaves my hair feeling soft and fluffy. The light weight oil helps seal in the hydration.
Curl the Ends
- If you hate the look of lifeless ends, add perm rods on the ends of your braids to give them shape.
Less is More
- Four or five braid maximum is the sweet spot for dense hair. Not only will you have a fuller look, you won’t spend 30 minutes trying to unravel them.
