I'VE CREATED A NEW VLOG SERIES

I’ve created a new vlog series highlighting more of my journey as an actress navigating as a new wife and mother. Don’t worry, this doesn’t mean my hair and fashion videos are disappearing.  I’m exploring ways to weave the content into my new series, as well as stand alone videos from time to time. I’ve spent the past two years asking myself a lot of serious questions. What kind of videos would I be proud to showcase? How do I integrate my acting career into my Youtube content? What kind of content excites me? What do I want my overall message to be? What content can I do consistently without neglecting obligations in other areas of my life?

The answer to those questions is this vlog. The first of many. I truly hope you enjoy.

WHAT I LEARNED MAKING MY BED DAILY

In one of my favorite books, The Power of Habit author Charles Duhigg says, “Making your bed every morning is correlated with better productivity, a greater sense of well-being, and stronger skills at sticking with a budget.”

For most of my life I’ve been on and off about making my bed. But for the past  three months, I’ve made it a priority to make the bed every single morning without excuse.

First I began because I wanted my space to look better, but I quickly realized it made me feel like I have my crap together. And I LOVE that feeling. The funny thing is, I actually got more organized and felt a bigger push to be more productive. It lead to making sure the rest of my room looks and feels good AND I’ve utilized those early morning waking hours (thanks to my new baby) to stay awake and get stuff done. Obviously, I can’t generalize and say that this works for everyone, but I’d love for you to share if you make your bed or not and how it effects your day either positively or negatively. Be honest!

I’m kind of a nerd, so if you’re like me, you might be interested in my download that has a list of 5 ordinary things successful people do differently. I’ll leave a link at the bottom of this post and if you sign up for my newsletter, you’ll instantly get the list for free. I don’t know about you, but I find the more I emulate success-driven habits, the more disciplined and successful I become. I’ll leave the link for the kindred curious at heart.

TOOLS FOR SUCCESS

One of the main things people ask me when I tell them I’m an actress is, “How do you learn all of those lines?!” The truth is it’s not magic, it’s a muscle and I have to work it hunty!  I learn line by line, image by image. I work it and rework it, until I’m able to take direction onset without fumbling.  If you learn by ear, the app “OFF BOOK” is a great IOS app for learning lines through voice recordings.

Here’s one of my favorite books about habit building. If you happen to drive a lot, an audiobook is the way to go.
